Waterproofing is the process of making an object or structure waterproof or water-resistant so that it remains relatively unaffected by water or resisting the ingress of water under specified conditions.
A composite bonded repair generally comprises three basic structural elements: a damaged skin laminate, a repaired patch laminate, and a layer of bonding adhesive. Furthermore, the skin damage is normally cleaned up before the repair to become a through or a part-through hole with a straight or scarf edge.
A waterproofing membrane is a thin layer of material used to prevent water from contacting another material that it is placed over.
